The White Sox extended their top prospect, Luis Robert, to a six-year, $50 million deal with two club options for 2026 and 2027. This means that La Pantera will be the Opening Day CF on the South Side of Chicago. Like last year with the Eloy Jimenez extension, the White Sox didn’t want to deal with service time manipulation.
Robert might be the best addition to the White Sox team in 2020 even with the additions of Encarnacion, Grandal, and Keuchel.
The White Sox Projected Opening Day Lineup
- Yoan Moncada 3B
- Yasmani Grandal C
- Jose Abreu 1B
- Edwin Encarnacion DH
- Eloy Jimenez LF
- Tim Anderson SS
- Nomar Mazara RF
- Luis Robert CF
- Danny Mendick 2B
The White Sox continue to look at adding a few pitchers to the bullpen. It will be interesting to see if they extend any more core pieces like Nick Madrigal, Yoan Moncada, and Lucas Giolito.
