NL Minor League Free Agents Tracker

We have the second part in our Minor League Free Agent Tracker articles – this time, focusing on the National League. The AL tracker can be found HERE.

If you’re new, we are providing a continually updated list of all the free agents signed by AL and NL teams in the 2023 offseason. As of now, below is the total number of free agents signed by team in the National League:

International Free Agents are included within the count above, however, I do separate them in the lists below.

Note: When I discuss International Free Agents, I am not including first-time available signees that just signed this past January 15th. Instead, I am referring to the international players who were previously eligible to sign, but didn’t sign with a major league club in previous years and have no MiLB playing experience.

There are some interesting teams on this list. The Cardinals did not end up signing a lot of Minor League Free Agents to this point, as it appears they are happy with the depth they have – which is very similar to their approach from last offseason. On the other hand, the Padres and Nationals are leading the way with over 20 MiLB free agents signed. This is interesting because they both find themselves on different spectrums when it comes to their ability to win next season, however, they are employing similar strategies in the minor league free-agent market.
