Nicholas Tucker

My name is Nicholas Tucker. I am 24 years old from Bainbridge Island, WA. I’m a lifelong Mariners fan whose earliest memories of baseball start just when the Mariners stopped being a competitive team and started being a little more Marinersy. Despite that, being a Mariners fan has provided plenty of excellent moments of triumph and levity to look back on, like in 2009 when Ichiro hit a walkoff homerun against Mariano Rivera, and then in the same year Ken Griffey Jr. had the Safeco Field PA team play the Nutcracker Suite as Adrian Beltre’s first walk-up song after returning from a testicle injury. A world where that is not funny is not a world I wish to continue living in. My love for the Mariners sent me to Washington State University to pursue an education that would get me into a similar position I am in now but that journey wasn’t quite what I thought it would be. Now I’m as happy as a clam to be where I am, and I hope to continue growing and getting better at writing and analyzing in my own time, as well as slowly learning more about what xWOBA is. Career goals include but aren’t limited to, meeting Mitch Haniger, telling Mitch Haniger how cool he is, telling Mitch Haniger my name, and/or having Mitch Haniger look in my general direction. All of the above goals could also apply to Lydia Cruz and I’d consider it a career and life fulfilled.
