Norris Retains MLB Game Score Belt In Win Over Cleveland

For the first time in the very short history of the MLB Game Score Belt, a pitcher will be defending the Belt twice in a row.

Tigers’ Daniel Norris’ nice Game Score of 69 beat out Indians’ Trevor Bauer’s Game Score of 26 by a wide margin.

Norris, in six innings, only allowed two hits, but did walk four, while striking out five and allowing no Indians player to cross the plate. Bauer, however, only pitched five innings, allowing six earned runs, eight hits, and two walks, while striking out six.

Daniel Norris has now gone 21 starts in a row allowing three runs or fewer, the longest streak in the Majors. It appears Norris’ next start will come against the Tampa Bay Rays, but it looks like he’ll miss Chris Archer by a day.

The Tigers beat the Indians 7–6 in Progressive Field, despite Cleveland’s comeback effort in the ninth inning.
