On Wednesday, Marlins’ Jose Ureña squared off against Cubs’ John Lackey in a Game Score Belt showdown.
In five innings pitched, the defender Ureña allowed three hits, three runs, while walking three and striking out five. The challenger Lackey, in six innings pitched, allowed seven hits, five runs, while striking out six (and allowing no walks).
Ureña’s Game Score of 48 was enough to beat Lackey’s 41, and the Marlins beat the Cubs 6–5.
Ureña’s next start comes against Oakland, and could mean the Belt switching leagues again.
