We are just a week away from the 2019 MLB Draft, so what does that mean? It means we get to throw more mock drafts at everyone!
After we took our first stabs in our respective mocks the other week, we come back with more, and by that, I mean we added two more picks to our mocks, as we try to predict the results of the compensation picks that belong to the Arizona Diamondbacks for watching A.J. Pollock and Patrick Corbin go to the Dodgers and Nationals, respectively.
Just a few notes before we let you enjoy our mocks:
- The announcement of Carter Stewart signing in Japan was a surprise to many, but it could pay dividends for the youngster. He was projected to be a second rounder in our opinions, with a
chance at the back-end of the first round. - We came to
agreement on the top four selections, but even then, much will change before June 3rd. The Marlins, in particular, have been heavily scouting J.J. Bleday during the SEC Tournament, which means changes to our final mocks will more than likely be needed. - With a weak pitching class in 2019, there is a good chance that the first pitcher off the board goes after the first six selections. The last time a pitcher was taken that late was Ricky Romero in 2005 by the Toronto Blue Jays. Tyler has Nick Lodolo to the Cincinnati Reds at the seventh pick and first pitcher, while Mick also has Lodolo as the first pitcher going fifth to to the Detroit Tigers.
With that said, here is Diamond Digest’s Mock Draft, Version 2.0!
