Reds sign Moustakas to 4-Year Deal worth $64M

Fifteen minutes after deciding to non-tender Jose Peraza, the Reds have reportedly signed Mike Moustakas to a four year deal. The deal was first reported by Jon Heyman and is said to be worth $16M per year, $64M in total. It is believed that Mostakas will man the second base position for the Reds.

Moustakas spent the 2019 season with the Milwaukee Brewers where he slashed .254/.329/.516 to go along with 35 home runs and a bWAR of 3.6. Moustakas represents a huge upgrade in the lineup for the Reds and gives them a solid idea of what they will have in terms of production at the second base position moving forward.

On paper, the 2020 Reds could have one of the more interesting lineups in baseball. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the NL Central reacts.
